We are a small safari company, which caters for small groups to a maximum of six persons. Offering personalized service and custom planned safaris to suit the individual. We only cover the western parts or South Africa and Namibia, which are the dry or desert areas. We take great care in the planning and detail the safari, ensuring time and distances are not stretched, allowing ample time to take in the dramatic desert scenery.The vehicles we use are Toyota Land Cruisers and Land Rovers, all fitted with long-range fuel tanks, safety equipment and mobile refrigerators. Also included in the above are water tanks, extra fuel, air conditioning, spare wheels, which allows us to conduct safaris into remote areas in comfort and safety.
As mentioned in the first paragraph all safaris are planned to suit the individual or group. We can arrange a combination of camping and staying in small lodges; this combines the best of both experiences. For example we could arrange two or three nights in the bush and thereafter one or two nights in a small lodge. We can also combine a photographic and hunting safari, and incorporating a visit to the Cape Wine lands. The best way of planning a trip is to contact us and plan it together, taking into consideration the areas and places of most interest to you. When you have contacted us we will recommend reading material and brochures, which will help you plan a safari trip of a lifetime.
All clients are collected at Cape Town international airport (South Africa) Or at Hosea Kutako (just out side Windhoek) Namibia. Our mobile camps are mostly set up on private ranches, National Parks, and local community owned camps, which provide basic facilities. We also make use of private lodges and guesthouses, and farm guesthouses.
Andrew and Gitte Moffat are the owners and operators of Isle of Sky Safaris. Andrew has been hunting and taking people on extended trips into these remote places for more than 20 years. He has an extensive knowledge of the areas past and present history, it people, wild life and Desert environments. When we are not taking clients on safari we reside in the beautiful valley of Tulbagh in the Western Cape, South Africa. We live on a wine and fruit farm with holiday accommodation and campsites.
